Aperture
Aperture is a small hole in the camera that lets light through.
You can manipulate your depth of field in aperture, and can either make it a shallow DOF (depth of field) or a sharp DOF.
The way you can get the aperture on aperture priority mode (on nikon) is to scroll to the A picture on the circular button,
and then scroll on the thumb dial. To get to aperture priority mode on canon is to get to AV on the circular button,
and then use the finger dial. Your pictures should turn out like these two.

Shutter Speed
Shutter speed is how fast the shutter speed goes, as you take a picture. The slower the time, the longer it takes the picture.
Usually longer times (for example 15") are used for dark places, because then you could do light painting (manipulating light to
your advantage.) To take cool pictures. A good tool to use is a tripod, so you don' t have shaky pictures as you wait. Bright places use really fast shutter speeds. (for example 1/40)Usually, fast shutter speeds are used for taking things in the movement. Like a dancer, or a flying bird. Your pictures should turn out like the ones below.

ISO
ISO is how sensitive your camera is to light and how much light goes into your camera. ISO also controls how much noise goes
into your picture. For example, a higher ISO can take pictures in low lighting, or even in the dark, but the picture will have a lot of noise.(Noise is how grainy your picture is.) But if you take a picture with a low ISO, you will have a clearer picture, but the camera will need more light. An example for a high ISO is 1600, and an example for a low ISO is 200. To get into ISO (in a nikon) you go to menu, and then you go to the ISO tab. For Canon, there is a button that says ISO. Your picture should look like these.

White Balance
White Balance is when you want your picture or your camera to show true white. White balance has multiple options for different places and whites. To get to white Balance, you first get to menu and then go down to White Balance sensitivity, and there you can choose your white balance. Also, you can choose the to change your white balance in photoshop, and camera raw. Which is another photo editing site.
